Waterfront

Lake McWain

Here at Wazi, we are lucky enough to be located right on the banks of Lake McWain in Waterford, Maine. The lake itself is 3.5 miles long, and Camp Waziyatah occupies the entire southern portion of the lake front. With a nice sandy bottom that warms up the water in the sun, the lake is excellent for a dip during the day. The lake is also closed to public boating access, which makes it the ideal environment to learn to waterski, canoe, sail, and more!

Waterfront Safety

Nearly all of our camp counselors are certified lifeguards. Our Waterfront director and our assistant Waterfront director are also both certified to train and certify new lifeguards. All of the campers have access to Red Cross Swim Instruction and there are no age restrictions for waterfront activities, but there is a swim test at the beginning of camp before activity sign up.
