C.I.T. Program

For Teens Entering Grades 11 & 12

 

If you are entering grades 11 or 12, and want to have a great summer, then you are ready for our Counselor in Training Program. It’s the perfect combination of camper-type activities and counselor-type leadership responsibilities:

  • Develop leadership skills

  • Learn to teach an activity

  • Specialized C.I.T. programming

  • Learn Advanced Life Saving

  • Earn Community Service hours

 

IMPORTANT:

 

CIT 1’s apply online here in the camper’s online application and select the CIT program you wish during the “Sessions” area of the application.

 

CIT 2’s apply online here and select CIT 2 in the program choices. Please note If you were not previously a CIT 1 and you select the 8 week session, you must spend one of the two sessions as a CIT 1, then you can be moved to CIT 2 for the second session. CIT2s should attend staff training (1 week prior to camp start) however, if you apply to be a CIT 2 and must spend the first session as a CIT 1 staff training week is not mandatory though still recommended. Once you have applied, you will be contacted for a verbal interview. Call or email with questions.

 

 

CIT 1’s are:
Past Wazi campers and other qualified applicants who will be at least 16 years old and less than 18 years old by June 15, 2008, or who will be at least high school juniors in the Fall of 2008.

 

CIT 2’s are:
Students entering the 12th grade or first year of college who have already been a CIT 1. If you have never been a CIT 1 or a camper at Camp Waziyatah, you may spend the first session as a CIT 1, then be moved to CIT 2 for the second session).

 

 

 

CIT PRICES AND REBATES:

CIT 1 4 week session: $3,975

CIT 1 8 week session: $7,170.

CITs CAN participate in the Jane Forman Tennis Academy, which takes place only in the first two weeks of each session. If you choose to participate in the Jane Forman Tennis Academy, select your CIT session (4 weeks or 8 weeks) in the “sessions” area of the application, then ADD the Jane Forman option on the NEXT page. The cost to ADD the academy to a CIT session is $300.

CIT 2, 8 weeks only including 1 week of pre-camp training: $1,000
(full amount can be rebated back to family as CIT 2’s do work at camp, making the cost zero and equivalent to a summer job).
